Visitor Operations Host at DIG

Reports to: Visitor Operations Manager and Deputy.
Salary: £8.50 per hour
Holiday: Pro rata per hours worked
Hours of Work: Various, weekend and bank holidays included

The JORVIK Group are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging member of staff to join their experienced team.

This is a part time fixed term contract up to Sunday 3rd November 2019, for which a potential extension of the date will then be reviewed.

The rate of pay is £8.50 per hour and holiday pay is accrued on a pro rata basis per hours worked. (Includes bank holiday entitlement)

The key purpose of the role is to engage the public and schools in History and Archaeology as interpreted by the York Archaeological Trust. As part of your role there will also be admissions and retail duties so you will be encouraged to actively up sell products in the gift shop and process customers through the admissions tills and promote gift aid.

The role requires excellent customer care and communication skills, a background in similar customer facing roles is desirable. You should have excellent people skills, a positive attitude to working with the public, and be extremely reliable.
