Toddler plays in the Synthetic soil

Looking for a fun, safe, regular meet-up for parents, babies and toddlers? Join Tiny Diggers – our new group promoting sensory play for babies and toddlers every Monday and Friday morning at DIG: An Archaeological Adventure, St Saviourgate in York city centre.

With soft play and many parent and baby groups still not operating, we’ve created two sessions designed exclusively for babies and toddlers – chance to play in a safe, tactile environment which uses textures found in archaeology to introduce touch-based play.

Sessions run on Mondays at 9am for babies (those who have not yet learned to walk) and on Fridays at 9am for mobile youngsters aged up to 4 years. We’re limiting numbers in each session so that we can keep to social distancing guidelines, and will be offering free coffee and biscuits for parents and carers to enjoy as they socialise.

The group will run on a four week cycle, with content to introduce varied stimuli, from treasure hunts to messy play, created by our Early Years team to help develop fine motor skills and engage all the senses. Fun for your little one, and you, too!

The sessions cost £5 per child, booked in blocks of four sessions (£20).
